Zagim Anishinabk is a progressive First Nations government located 22 km northeast of Grenfell, Saskatchewan.
SUMMARY OF POSITION
Reporting to the Director of Child and Family Wellness, the Prevention Services Worker collaborates with community programs and the Nations Prevention Committee to deliver primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention services to Zagim Anishinabk families.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Deliver prevention programs for children, youth, and families in a respectful, safe, culturally grounded environment.
Empower individuals toward holistic well-being.
Identify community needs through evaluations and surveys.
Collaborate with delegated agencies and internal programs to support families.
Provide land-based programming and promote cultural protocols and teachings.
Ensure voluntary access to resources and services.
Support families emotionally, spiritually, mentally, and financially as outlined in case plans.
Maintain accurate case management records and required CFW documentation.
Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual prevention reports.
Consult with Elders and Knowledge Keepers.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience supporting children and families.
Bachelor of Indigenous Social Work or Social Work.
Eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers.
Knowledge of trauma, addictions, mental health, Indigenous culture, and historical trauma.
Strong conflict resolution, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Proficient in MS Office and case management systems.
Flexible schedule; valid drivers licence and reliable vehicle.
Current Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Check, and Child Abuse Registry (ACD).
