The North Service Areas are seeking Child Protection Workers in the Meadow Lake office to deliver services under The Child and Family Services Act and The Adoption Act. Using the Family Centered Case Management Model, workers provide protective, preventative, and supportive services to children and families.
Key responsibilities include investigating allegations of neglect, physical or sexual abuse, assessing family functioning, identifying safety risks, and developing intervention plans. Workers provide ongoing support to families and, when necessary, initiate and participate in Family Court proceedings.
When children are admitted to Ministry care, workers manage placements, assessments, and treatment planning to meet their health, social, psychological, and educational needs. Longterm cases may require permanency planning and collaboration with First Nation Child and Family Service agencies.
The role requires travel, flexible hours including evenings and weekends, and transporting children and families. While increasing Indigenous representation is a priority, all qualified applicants are encouraged to apply. Candidates must clearly outline their relevant knowledge, skills, and experience.
A Bachelor of Social Work or Bachelor of Indigenous Social Work from an accredited university is required, along with the ability to work flexible hours and travel as needed.
