The Ministry of Social Services is seeking Child Protection Workers for the Buffalo Narrows office to deliver services under The Child and Family Services Act and The Adoption Act. Using the Family Centered Case Management Model, you will provide protective, preventative, and supportive services to children and families. Responsibilities include investigating allegations of neglect or abuse, assessing family functioning and risk, developing intervention plans, and offering ongoing support. When required, you will initiate and navigate Family Court processes with families. For children admitted to the Ministrys care, you will coordinate placements, oversee assessments and treatment planning, and ensure their health, social, psychological, and educational needs are met, with a focus on successful reunification. Longterm placements require ongoing planning and collaboration, often in partnership with First Nation Child and Family Service agencies. This role requires travel, flexible hours including evenings and weekends, and transporting children and parents as part of service delivery.
While increasing Indigenous representation is a priority, all qualified applicants are encouraged to apply. Candidates must clearly outline how their training and experience demonstrate required knowledge, skills, and abilities. A Bachelor of Social Work or Bachelor of Indigenous Social Work from an accredited university is required, along with the ability to work flexible hours and travel as needed. Only those selected for further consideration will be contacted. For information about the Ministry, visit the Government of Saskatchewan website.
