1. Bachelors Degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Human Kinetics, Physiology, or a related discipline is required; a Masters Degree in a related field is considered an asset.
2. Preference will be given to candidates who already hold the Certified Exercise Physiologist (CEP) certification through the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology (CSEP). Candidates who do not currently hold this certification must obtain and maintain CEP certification within six (6) months of hire as a condition of employment, in addition to meeting all provincial practice requirements in Saskatchewan and maintaining current CPR and First Aid certification.
3. Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in exercise prescription, strength and conditioning, and clinical or therapeutic exercise environments.
4. Demonstrated experience working with first responder populations; experience with tactical, military, or other high-performance populations is considered an asset.
5. Advanced knowledge of exercise physiology, strength and conditioning principles, injury prevention strategies, and rehabilitative exercise practices.
6. Demonstrated ability to assess, interview, and counsel adult populations regarding fitness, wellness, and physical readiness, and to design and implement safe, evidence-based programming.
7. Proven ability to plan, develop, implement, and evaluate individualized and group-based fitness, conditioning, and health promotion programs.
8. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary health and operational environment.
9. Demonstrated ability to manage confidential medical and health information in compliance with applicable legislation and Regina Police Service policies.
