The Saskatchewan Food Industry Development Centre (Food Centre) has an immediate opening for a Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA) Coordinator.
Requirements:
Requires a B.Sc. in Food Science or related area of study; or 4+ years in the food industry; Candidate needs a basic knowledge of processing plant operations, Food Industry Regulations (USDA, SSOP, HACCP, GMP)
Experience in food certification claims (e.g. Organic, NON-GMO, Halal, Kosher, etc.); HACCP Certification and basic GFSI (BRGS) training is desirable; Excellent organizational skills and computer proficiency; Good time management and effective written and oral communication skills
Job Responsibilities :
Conduct all quality inspections in the area of assigned responsibility and manage quality programs; Maintain quality objectives and keep quality to specifications through accurate inspections, non-compliance procedures, appropriate reporting, corrective actions and accuracy of paperwork along with sample submissions; Maintain all outside audit/certification requirements; Work with other departments to implement procedure changes, based on predetermined specifications; Ability to interpret customer/sales specifications and apply subjective quality decisions to product (ie: product appearance, color, texture, etc); Effectively communicate with plant production staff and plant management; Conduct operational sanitation inspections and complete Quality and Food Safety, CCP and sanitation paperwork; Conduct GMP and Sanitation audits as directed with documented corrective actions and follow-up as necessary; Identify and correct deficiencies for negative micro or shelf life data; Follow all appropriate departmental procedures regarding all potential QA or FS holds
Provide training to personnel/clients in compliance with company Good Manufacturing Practices/GFSI Standards; Maintain current knowledge of HACCP, GFSI, Regulatory Affairs, and Product Quality standards
