Saulteaux First Nation is seeking a dedicated Mental Health & Addictions Counsellor to deliver culturally grounded, trauma-informed services to community members. The successful candidate will oversee the National Native Alcohol and Drug Abuse Program (NNADAP) and provide comprehensive mental health and addictions counselling to individuals, families, youth, and groups. Responsibilities include confidential counselling, crisis intervention, mental health and substance use assessments, recovery planning, and completion of Substance Abuse Assessments for NNADAP intake and Community Corrections as required. The Counsellor will coordinate referrals with internal programs and external partners, including Battle River Treaty 6 Health Centre Inc. and Battlefords Agency Tribal Chiefs, promote traditional healing and collaboration with Elders and Knowledge Keepers, deliver prevention and education initiatives, and maintain accurate, confidential documentation. Applicants must have a Diploma or Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Addictions Counselling, or a related field (or equivalent experience), experience in mental health and addictions counsellingpreferably within Indigenous communitiesstrong interpersonal and crisis intervention skills, a commitment to a healthy lifestyle, basic computer skills, a valid Class 5 Drivers License, and a clear Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check.
