Summer Student JobThe Heritage Interpreters play a vital role in bringing the history, culture, and traditions of the Doukhobor community to life. The ideal candidates would have enthusiasm for history and culture, strong communication skills, and interest in working in a heritage/museum environment.
Candidates must be current students and must be returning to full-time studies in the fall.
Reporting to the Leadership Team, the Heritage Interpreter will assist in the following:
Welcome guests to the site and lead guided tours
Interpret artifacts & explain traditional practices
Assist with special events, cultural programs, & educational activities designed for school/youth groups & tourists. Adapt presentations to suit the needs & interests of diverse audiences
Assist with daily site operations such as exhibit set-up, maintain cleanliness in public areas, & collaborate on social media posts
Catalogue, document, & safely handle museum artifacts according to the Museums Association of Saskatchewan (MAS) Standards and Guidelines
Prepare & install exhibits, update interpretive materials, & arrange displays
Apply digital skills to build & maintain an online database of artifacts, including digitizing photographic & archival documents
Museum Admin duties including sales, registration, managing inventory, & admin duties as required
Other duties as identified
This full-time 4-month position commences May 1, 2026, and will be compensated at $17.00 per hour.
The employees normal hours are 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. for a 37.5 hour work week. Flex-time hours may be considered from time to time and additional hours of work may be required as deemed by the Leadership Team.
