Description

The MGBHLM Economic Development Corporation is owned by the MGBHLM First Nation with their corporate office located in Battleford, Saskatchewan.  We are looking for skilled individuals passionate about community economic development, knowledgeable about governance, and excited about the opportunity to contribute to the strategic direction and growth of the corporation.   The Board of Directors is appointed by an active and visionary Chief and Council of the MGBHLM First Nation.
Description: A Board member is expected to uphold the Vision, Mission, and Roles & Responsibilities outlined for Directors in their capacity as a representative of the MGBHLM Economic Development Corporation.  The Board of Directors will oversee creating strategic direction, establishing policies, and overseeing the financial plans.  The Board of Directors will always act in the best interest of MGBHLM Economic Development Corporation.
Required criteria to be eligible for Directorship:
-Financially competent. Must not be in consumer, proposal/bankrupt status.
-Clean Criminal Record Check
-At least 18 years of age or older
-Be an individual (corporations cannot be a director)
We welcome individuals with the following qualifications:
-Five years or more business experience within Retail, Tourism, Hospitality, Entrepreneurship, Real Estate / Property Management, Organizational Development, Business Administration and Construction sectors. Three Directors required within these fields.
-One Director that is a CPA, and one director with a background in Law.
-Must be autonomous from the MGBHLM Economic Development Entities that are already in operation.
Preferences for consideration
-Post Secondary Education/ Governance experience and certification
-Cultural knowledge around customs, history, and traditional systems will be considered an asset.
