Description

We are currently seeking an experienced and reliable Asphalt Roller Operator to join our paving crew.

The Asphalt Roller Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating a vibratory roller to compact asphalt during paving operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in road construction, a strong understanding of compaction techniques, and a commitment to workplace safety.

Key Responsibilities

-Operate asphalt roller to compact hot mix asphalt to required density and specifications

-Perform pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections

-Monitor mat temperature and rolling patterns to ensure proper compaction

-Work closely with the paving foreman and crew to maintain smooth -paving operations

-Identify and report mechanical issues promptly

-Maintain clean and safe work areas

-Follow all company safety policies and provincial OH&S regulations


Qualifications

-Experience in road construction and asphalt paving operations

-Valid Class 5 drivers license (Class 1A or 3A considered an asset)

-Ability to work long hours in varying weather conditions

-Strong teamwork and communication skills

-Physically fit and able to work outdoors

-Willingness to work overtime and weekends during peak season
