Key Responsibilities
-Provide technical support and analysis related to roadways, drainage, water and wastewater utilities.
-Review engineering plans and reports and provide technical analysis and comments.
-Develop and review standards, specifications, processes and manuals.
-Research and evaluate the application of industry best practises related to infrastructure management
-Provide project management support for the execution of capital projects.
-Assist in data management of infrastructure through asset management software and records management.
-Effectively communicate in verbal and written form with ratepayers, staff, contractors, regulators, and Council.
-Support the Manager of Engineering and Public Works as needed.
Education & Qualifications
-Graduation from a two-year, post-secondary civil, mechanical, drafting or geomatics technology program.
-Certification, or eligibility for certification, as a Professional Technologist (P.Tech) with Technology Professionals Saskatchewan. Must register and maintain registration under Saskatchewan Applied Science Technologists and Technicians (SASTT).
-Knowledge of drafting and surveying technology practices and techniques.
-Ability to create, and modify drawings, analyze data, and prepare designs using AutoCAD.
-Ability to analyze, evaluate, and prepare a wide variety of reports, plans and specifications.
-Ability to acquire and apply knowledge of Municipal policies and procedures, and legislative and regulatory requirements.
-Proficiency in the Microsoft Suite of Professional Office Software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access).
-Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
-Professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment when handling sensitive information
