Description

JOB SUMMARY:

Cowessess Community Educational Centre (CCEC) is seeking a dedicated and dynamic educator committed to delivering high-quality instruction while serving as a positive role model for students. The successful candidate will primarily serve as a Grade 10 homeroom teacher, delivering courses such as Career and Work Exploration 10, Native Studies (10, 20, and 30), Psychology (20 and 30), and Leadership 30. Additional electives may be assigned and are flexible.
In addition, the successful candidate will be responsible for teaching high school Social Sciences courses. This role involves working collaboratively within a strong and supportive CCEC team to promote student engagement and success.

QUALIFICATIONS:

A valid Class 4 Saskatchewan Education Teaching Certificate is required.

A Bachelor of Education degree is considered a strong asset.

Knowledge and understanding of Treaty Education and/or traditional Treaty teachings.

Solid understanding of K-12 curriculum outcomes, whether local, provincial, or territorial.

Familiarity with current literacy practices and instructional strategies across PreK to Grade 12.

Strong working knowledge of assessment for learning principles and various assessment tools.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Highly competent in Microsoft Office programs (especially Word and Excel) as well as online learning platforms.

Ability to maintain an organized filing system, both physical and electronic.

Understanding of First Nation governance structure and the First Nations education system.

Ability to follow directions, work independently, and manage tasks with minimal supervision.

Highly organized, punctual, reliable, and capable of maintaining strict confidentiality.
