The Ministry of Social Services supports positive outcomes for individuals and families through income support, child and family programs, disability services, and affordable housing. The Child and Family Programs Division is offering an opportunity to make a direct impact in the lives of children and families in northern Saskatchewan.
They are seeking Child Protection Workers who want to support children and families through protective, preventative, and supportive services using the Family Centred Case Management Model. The ministry offers a unique work rotation for the Buffalo Narrows location as a Drive In and Drive Out position. Over a four week period, employees work 11 hour days from Monday to Saturday with scheduled days off, and may receive compensation for travel time. Staff housing may also be provided. While on location, staff may be required to provide emergency duty coverage in the evenings.
The ideal candidate is committed to improving the well being of children and families and is comfortable working in varied and demanding environments. Candidates must be able to travel, work flexible hours including evenings or weekends, and transport children or parents as needed. Clear communication in the cover letter or resume about relevant knowledge, skills, and experience is required for assessment.
A Bachelor of Social Work, Bachelor of Indian Social Work, or an equivalent accredited Social Work degree is required. A valid Saskatchewan drivers licence is also mandatory. Indigenous applicants are strongly encouraged, but all qualified candidates are invited to apply.
