Description

The Ministry of SaskBuilds and Procurement is seeking a motivated individual to join the Information Technology Division as a Service Desk Agent. The Ministry offers a dynamic and supportive environment where IT professionals help deliver programs and services across government.

The Ministry is looking for a candidate with strong communication skills, solid technical knowledge, and the ability to solve problems in a fast paced setting. The ideal applicant can diagnose workstation, server, and network issues, identify root causes, and deliver workable solutions within a reasonable timeframe. The role requires the ability to explain technical information clearly to both technical and non technical users, listen actively, ask effective questions, and respond calmly during challenging situations. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage shifting priorities are also important.

To qualify, candidates typically bring two years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and hands on work in help desk or service delivery support. Required knowledge includes desktop and network operating systems such as Windows XP, Vista, 7, and 10, and commercial software such as Microsoft Office. Familiarity with network hardware, data communications, and protocols including TCP IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and Active Directory is essential. Candidates must also be comfortable preparing documentation and following best practice approaches for quality IT service delivery.
If space allows: Duties include resolving technical incidents, supporting peripherals, providing remote assistance, maintaining documentation, and offering brief user training when required.
