4 Directions - YTL-YTCCFS. is seeking fulltime (DAYS & NIGHTS) and casual candidates.
The Family Enhancement Worker will provide direct supervision to the children in the program. Must be available to work days, evenings & overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Qualifications:
1)Youth Care Worker Certificate/Diploma OR
2)Early Childhood Development OR
3) Post-Secondary training in the human service field that includes some study in child and behavior psychology and group work
4) Experience in a residential setting
5) Experience & ability to work with children
-Ability to use Professional Judgement and Critical thinking.
Engage in Cultural Opportunities and planning for parents, children and family.
-Knowledge and understanding of the impacts of colonialism on First Nation people, Indian Residential Schools, Intergenerational trauma and how these factors impact individuals and families; and the influence of the child welfare system in First Nations communities.
-The Family Enhancement Worker will work directly in an Intervention Safe Home Setting if the family is placed in a YTL- Safe Home.
-The Family Enhancement worker is responsible for working with the needs of family groups, or a group of individuals from multiple families, as identified by those people.
-The Family Enhancement worker will introduce various intervention and prevention approaches so the family and children; community members and active participants can understand the concepts that guide Family
Organize an initial Case Review with child protection services to review the request for services.
-Organize a Case Conference to review the request for services with the Intervention response team, parents, children as required.
