The Ministry of Social Services supports positive outcomes for individuals and families through income assistance, child and family services, disability supports, and affordable housing. The ministry is seeking dedicated individuals committed to improving the safety and well-being of children and families to serve as Child Protection Workers in a northern location with a flexible work rotation. This role provides protective, preventative, and supportive services using the Family Centred Case Management Model. A Drive In/Drive Out option is available for Meadow Lake, offering an 11hour workday rotation from Monday to Saturday across a fourweek schedule, with travel time compensation and the possibility of staff housing.
The ideal candidate is adaptable, communityminded, and passionate about working with children and families. Candidates must be prepared to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, and may provide Emergency Duty Work. They must also be comfortable transporting children or parents and engaging directly with families in crisis. A strong commitment to relationshipbuilding, sound judgment, and an understanding of diverse cultural backgrounds, including First Nations and Metis, are essential.
Key knowledge and qualifications include a Bachelor of Social Work, Bachelor of Indian Social Work, or an equivalent accredited social work degree recognized by CASSW. Candidates must have a valid Saskatchewan drivers licence and the ability to travel. Skills needed include assessment, case planning, crisis response, documentation, and the ability to collaborate with families, caregivers, and community partners.
