Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of the Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants and associated equipment.
Perform skilled work to control treatment processes along with detailed sampling, monitoring & analysis of water, wastewater, and processing streams.
Water Distribution and Wastewater Collection System Maintenance; maintenance of Water and Wastewater Treatment infrastructure including associated equipment, etc.
Utility Services Operations: scheduled meter services, cross connection control, residential supply management, etc.
Knowledgeable in the use of computers and computer programs.
The successful candidate must work rotational, non-standard hours, including shift work, nights, evenings, and weekends, as well as stand-by and callouts.
Experience:
Trade and Secondary Education Equivalencies may be considered.
Preference will be given to individuals with experience and/or education in the water/wastewater fields or plant operations.
The position includes physical demands, including but not limited to: a large number of stairs, tank cleaning, and the use of a self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA).
Qualifications:
Required:
Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent as determined by Saskatchewan Education
Must possess and maintain a valid Class 5 Saskatchewan drivers license
Possess and maintain R.C.M.P. security clearance
Be able to obtain and maintain a valid Saskatchewan Firemans Boiler Certificate
Be able to obtain and maintain valid SCBA training, First Aid, CPR, SCOT/WHMIS, Air Brakes, OH&S levels 1 & 2, SCSA, Confined Space, and H2S Alive Certificates.
