Description

Brandt Corporate Services is seeking a detailed oriented Manager of Accounting to join our growing team in Regina, SK.  The Manager of Accounting shall be responsible for assisting the Divisional Controller with the management of overall financial operations within the division and will work collaboratively to provide accurate financial information for the operations, including preparing financial reporting, account reconciliations. This role will direct and manage the day-to-day accounting functions and produce monthly financial results for the applicable division. It will report and provide analysis on monthly results to the Divisional Controller and Director of Financial Reporting and Control, manage the monthly and annual financial reporting; and various projects within the Finance Department.

Duties and Responsibilities:
-Manage the day-to-day accounting functions including the entry of journal entries, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable and statutory reporting.
-Monitor internal controls to ensure that accounting activities are in accordance with established legal, regulatory and company policies and procedures.
-Hire, supervise and evaluate accounting staff, ensuring that all personnel are adequately trained and have up-to-date job descriptions.

Required Skills:
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
-Proficient communication, interpersonal and organizational skills are vital to the role.
-Good problem-solving skills.
-Good organizational, leadership, time management and prioritizing skills.

Required Experience:
-University degree in Business/Accounting, with advanced degree or professional accounting designation (such as CPA) preferred.
-Experience and knowledge of all aspects of corporate accounting and financial management, including accounting principles, practices and applications as well as financial analysis and budgeting experience.
