In this role, you will:
-Prepare electrical and instrumentation design documents.
-Gather, review, and organize technical vendor information.
-Support the development of capital cost estimates.
-Collaborate with engineers and technologists on design deliverables.
-Assist with various stages of project planning and execution.
-Participate in onsite visits to production facilities to support project design needs.
Required:
-diploma in electrical or instrumentation technology;
-minimum one year of related industry experience;
-eligible for future A.Sc.T or P.Tech designation;
-strong communication, planning and organizational skills;
-proven ability to work effectively in a team environment;
-proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel; and
-occasionally commute to site by aircraft.
Recommended:
-demonstrated willingness and aptitude to learn new tools, standards, and processes;
-familiarity with ANSI/ISA5.1, CSA M421, and working knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code;
-experience using the Elecdes Design Suite;
-experience with AutoDesk Vault and Autodesk Plant 3D, including smart P&IDs and 3D modelling; and
-background in the mining industry or other heavy industrial environments.
