The Ministry of Highways is hiring an Equipment Operator for the Big River Section to support the operation and maintenance of Saskatchewans provincial transportation network, including roads, highways, and airports. The role focuses on public safety through surveillance and yearround maintenance activities. Key duties include operating and servicing heavy equipment such as tandem trucks, graders, and loaders; using advanced hydraulic controls during snowplow operations; completing daily records; and performing physically demanding work in challenging weather. The position requires strong situational awareness, sound decisionmaking in all conditions, adaptability, teamwork, basic computer skills, and the ability to work flexible hours.
A valid Class 1A licence is required, and candidates must provide a current driver abstract if interviewed. The successful candidate must pass a Criminal Record Check. The Ministry values safety, inclusion, and a positive team environment. Hours of work average 37.33 per week with one earned day off every three weeks.
