St. Vital Catholic School is a lively collaborative learning community for Pre-Kindergarten to grade 7, where everyone feels at home! This is a unique elementary school in that it is a Catholic School in a public school division. We are committed to inclusion and the needs of students are at the center of everything. We anticipate over 170 students and over 20 staff members next year. Our staff are committed and caring individuals who know they can make a difference and who believe that every child can become great!

Summary of Position

This posting is for a Permanent Full-Time caretaker at St. Vital Catholic School, to commence immediately.  Position hours are eight (8) hours daily from Monday through Friday.  As a Caretaker, you will focus on keeping the school clean and maintained to provide an optimal learning setting for our students.  The successful candidate must possess well developed interpersonal skills, be energetic, have the ability to take initiative and work independently with a positive and supportive attitude in a team environment.

This position includes janitorial work, groundskeeping, seasonal tasks, and some maintenance.  

Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with a Grade 12 education and previous training/experience in caretaking
A Firemans Certificate or WHMIS training would be considered an asset
