Description

The Ministry of Parks, Culture and Sport is seeking a motivated and flexible team player to support its mission of enhancing quality of life and economic growth through stewardship of Saskatchewans parks system. The ministry is hiring a Park Maintenance Worker for Douglas Park, with a work term from April to December 31, offering the opportunity to contribute to safe, wellmaintained provincial park operations.
The ideal candidate is adaptable, collaborative and capable of working independently while fostering a positive team environment. They bring strong supervisory ability, experience leading crews of 3 to 5 staff, and the confidence to coach, mentor and train seasonal workers. They communicate clearly with the public, follow safety and operating procedures, and can effectively manage varied maintenance tasks.

Candidates must hold a Class I Water Distribution and Water Treatment certification; consideration may be given to those progressing toward Class II or completing remaining requirements. Knowledge and skill in tradesrelated work, including plumbing, carpentry, equipment operation and light mechanical maintenance, are essential. A valid drivers licence and the ability to work weekends are required. The ministry values diversity, inclusion and reconciliation, welcoming applicants from all backgrounds.

Responsibilities include operating the Class I potable water treatment facility, maintaining and operating light and heavy equipment such as skid steers, tractors and mowers, verifying the accuracy of work performed by staff, volunteers and contractors, and completing administrative tasks such as purchasing supplies and coding credit card transactions. The role supports both water system operations and broader park maintenance activities.
