Summer Student JobPosition Summary
Docs Town Heritage Village is seeking a Program Leader to help develop and deliver engaging heritage programs for children, youth, families, and seniors. This role includes preparing program materials, leading tours, organizing day camps, assisting with special events, supporting virtual and in-person programming, promoting programs, documenting and evaluating activities, working with volunteers, and helping maintain the cleanliness, safety, and security of exhibits and heritage buildings.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and deliver hands-on heritage programs, prepare program materials, activity plans, and educational resources, lead school and public tours, organize and facilitate youth day camps and heritage activities, promote programs through social media, website, and digital tools, assist with program evaluation and participant feedback collection, support volunteer scheduling and program assistance, maintain security, cleanliness, and upkeep of exhibits and buildings, assist with special events including Frontier Days and Docs Town programming.
Qualifications
Minimum two years of post-secondary education in Education, History, Museum Studies, Indigenous Studies, or related field, must have been a full-time student in Spring 2026 and enrolled full-time in Fall 2026, previous experience in cultural programming, museums, education, or public engagement is an asset, strong organizational, planning, communication, and leadership skills, ability to work independently and in teams, fluent written and spoken English, Indigenous students are encouraged to apply.
Additional Assets
Experience developing programs for diverse age groups, familiarity with digital media and promotional tools, knowledge of Southwest Saskatchewan history and rural heritage, ability to work with committees, volunteers, and community partners, First Aid/CPR certification is an asset.
