They are seeking candidates eligible for membership with the Law Society of Saskatchewan who demonstrate strong ethical judgment, professionalism, and the ability to handle demanding and sensitive legal work. Ideal applicants possess exceptional oral and written communication, strong analytical abilities, excellent interpersonal skills, effective case management, and the ability to work independently or collaboratively under short timelines. Litigation or criminal law experience is an asset but not required.
Key qualifications include proficiency with legal research tools and software applications such as MS Office, with CJIMS considered an asset. Candidates must pass a criminal record check, manage varied workloads, travel as required, and maintain high standards of conduct. Responsibilities may include carrying criminal, quasicriminal, and regulatory prosecutions at Provincial Court and the Court of Kings Bench, conducting trial and docket work, handling summary conviction appeals, reviewing police reports, providing legal opinions, advising police, and contributing to legal education in areas such as criminal law and ethics.
