The Role
Working with the McArthur River team, you will be responsible for providing mine engineering knowledge and support. Core responsibilities will include planning and scheduling, ventilation, ground control, surveying and other activities to support production, development and construction in a challenging environment. This role will require contributions in various technical disciplines and will involve some cross training to help meet the needs of the department. With safety as your core value, you will focus on high quality results and provide direction and guidance to ensure that planning is in place to achieve targets.
In this role, you will:
-Prepare engineering documents: drawings, change notices and production designs.
-Conduct field work associated with surveying, mine ventilation and ground support.
-Job shadow engineering or mining staff for on-the-job training.
Required:
-bachelors degree in mine (or related) engineering;
-two to six years of relevant work experience required;
-eligible for registration with the association of professional engineers and geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS);
-working towards registration as a Professional Engineer;
-strong communication, planning and organizational skills;
-flexibility, teamwork and good time management; and
-work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft.
Recommended:
-previous experience in an underground mining environment in a technical or operational role; and
-familiarity with mining products or mining software (Deswik preferred).
