This position includes duties related to clinical service delivery, and community collaboration.
Working with the collaborative partners and supervisor, this position will ensure the successful implementation of WCCFSCs Rapid Access Counselling to Children, Youth and Their Caregivers.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Conduct initial assessments to determine the needs and goals of the children and youth along with their families and caregivers.
2. Provide evidence-based counselling services to children, youth, families and caregivers in individuals, group and family settings.
3. Develop service plans in collaboration with children and youth that are tailored to the unique needs of each child and youth and their family.
4. Respond to clinical/client emergencies and review critical incident/unusual occurrence reports in consultation with other clinical staff as necessary.
Qualification Considerations:
1. Completion of a graduate degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education Psychology or related discipline.
2. Experience providing counselling to children, youth, families and caregivers.
3. Comfortable navigating consent with children, youth and their caregivers.
4. Ability to recognize signs and symptoms of acute mental health threats/disorders and refer client to appropriate service provider.
5. Knowledge of and experience with evidence-based therapeutic interventions for children and youth mental health and behavioral concerns.
6. Demonstrated commitment toward professional growth and keeping up-to-date with theory and practice.
7. Ability to perform duties in a confidential manner
8. Must be willing to travel to outreach offices within the Central West Service Area
