Description

CHEP Good Food Inc. is seeking an Urban Agriculture Coordinator for a 6-month term position (37.5 hours/week) to lead the asky internship program, which engages youth in urban food production and hands-on learning. This role combines gardening, youth mentorship, volunteer coordination, and community partnership development.

Responsibilities include coordinating all aspects of the asky internship, including recruitment, scheduling, and curriculum delivery; mentoring youth interns; leading crop planning, planting, harvesting, and post-harvest handling; and maintaining productive garden spaces. The Coordinator will organize volunteers, plan garden tasks and workdays, support site visits and school presentations, assist with compost operations, maintain relationships with community partners, and participate in internal planning and team collaboration.

Applicants must have experience in food production, gardening, or urban agriculture, as well as experience working with youth. Strong organizational and communication skills are required, along with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. This position involves physical outdoor work in varying weather conditions. A valid drivers license and satisfactory criminal record check are required.

Preferred qualifications include familiarity with Saskatoon community networks, urban agriculture systems, and experience with event planning or fundraising.

This position is primarily on-site in garden and community spaces.
