The suitable candidate will be able to perform the following duties:
Guard the property against the fire, suspicious behavior, theft, vandalism and forced entry
Perform foot patrol on Woodland Wellness Centres property
Observe and examine doors, windows, and gates to ensure that property is properly secured
Observe and report irregularities to supervisor and other agencies (RCMP or Fire Department)
Work independently with minimal supervision
Provide written and verbal reports with attention to factual details
Observe building and systems during shifts for potential boiler failure, pump failure, water leaks, or any other abnormal building system failures and report it to the Operations & Maintenance supervisor or maintenance staff
Assist treatment staff in sudden cases of emergencies such as violent outbreaks of participants and/or urgent medical attention of participants
Other work-related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor;
The suitable candidate will possess the following qualifications:
Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent
Security Guard training course or related
Previous experience in the security industry will be an asset
Ability to deal with public in a respectful and assertive manner
Ability to maintain confidentiality is essential
Ability to work a rotating dayshift and nightshift schedule
Punctual, honest and reliable
Ability to speak Cree is an asset
Valid Class 5 Drivers License is preferred
Must have a Valid Class 5 Drivers License and own a reliable vehicle
Must provide a satisfactory & recent; Criminal & Vulnerable Sector Check, SGI Drivers Abstract
