As an Elevator Assistant, you'll support daily operations of our grain receiving and feed loadout facilities. Key duties include inspecting and testing inbound oat loads, operating grain equipment, and loading by-product trucks per shipping schedules. This hands-on role requires a strong focus on safety, quality, and operational accuracy.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect, test, and record oat shipments and by-product loadouts
- Operate grain handling equipment and railcar systems
- Monitor grain quality (color, odor, shape) and document results
-Perform trailer inspections, weigh trucks in/out, and complete all shipping documentation
- Approve or reject incoming raw oats
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in grain handling preferred
- Strong attention to detail and safety
- Physically able to work at heights and in varying weather conditions
- Able to detect off-spec product by sight or smell
- Proficient in English for communication with carriers
- Computer skills (Microsoft Office/Windows)
- Willing to operate or obtain certifications for railcar and equipment operation
- Comfortable working with allergens like grain and dust
