Description

Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, the Privacy Manager is responsible for overseeing Saskatchewan Crop Insurance Corporations (SCIC) privacy management framework to ensure compliance with The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIP), the Provincial Personal Information Privacy Framework, and related federal and provincial legislation.
This role provides expert guidance on privacy legislation, leads FOIP request processing, oversees privacy incident investigations, ensures effective records management practices, and collaborates with internal and external partners to embed privacy protections into business practices, technologies, procurements, and third-party agreements.
    Ensure SCICs compliance with The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, the Provincial Privacy Framework, and all applicable privacy legislation, providing expert interpretation and guidance.
    Research, analyze, and respond to FOIP access requests within legislated timelines.
    Investigate, monitor, track, and report on privacy incidents and breaches, and recommend corrective and preventative measures.
    Develop, implement, and maintain records management and archiving policies and procedures in alignment with legislation, best practices, and SCIC information management standards.
    Develop, maintain, and oversee corporate privacy policies, procedures, and compliance expectations for all employees.
     Deliver privacy awareness training and provide guidance to staff regarding privacy obligations and concerns.
     Lead Privacy Impact Assessments for business cases, procurements, technology solutions, and projects, identifying risks and recommending mitigation strategies.
    Collaborate with procurement, legal counsel, vendor management, and business units to ensure third party contracts, data sharing agreements, software agreements, and operating arrangements meet SCICs privacy requirements.
