The ministry is seeking individuals who are committed to relationshipbased practice, community connection, and culturally informed service delivery.
The ideal candidate brings critical thinking, sound judgment, and the ability to complete risk assessments and make decisions within established protocols. They should understand multicultural values, particularly First Nations and Mtis perspectives, and be aware of how poverty and systemic issues affect families. Key abilities include advocating for clients, removing barriers to services, and building open, honest working relationships. Candidates must be able to manage complex situations, prioritize referrals, and maintain accurate documentation while supporting the physical, social, cultural, psychological, and educational needs of children.
Qualifications include a Bachelor of Social Work, Bachelor of Indigenous Social Work, or equivalent social work degree approved by SASW/CASW or CASWE. Candidates may also qualify with a human services degree or a social work certificate paired with relevant experience. A valid Saskatchewan drivers licence is required, along with the ability to travel, work flexible hours, and transport children or parents. Preference may be given to qualified Indigenous applicants.
