Description

The Chief Sabitawasis School is seeking a highly organized and experienced Finance Clerk to support the financial operations of the school. This role is responsible for financial record keeping, pre-payroll documentation and supporting compliance with funding agreements and organizational policies. The successful candidate will bring formal education in finance or accounting, several years of relevant experience, and a respectful understanding of First Nations communities and educational environments.
Key Responsibilities:
    Verify all payroll related documentation is complete and correctly filed.
    Ensure all pre-payroll documentation meets internal policies and audit requirements
    Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reporting
    Provide budget tracking and expenditure monitoring for school programs
    Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with funding agreements and policies
    Prepare documentation for audits and funding reviews
    Ensure confidentiality and compliance with privacy legislation
    Provide administrative support to finance and administration departments as required
    Knowledge of education funding agreements and reporting requirements
    Understanding of First Nations governance, culture, and community values
    Strong working knowledge of accounting principles and financial controls
    Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
    Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
    Strong organizational and time-management skills
