Chamkun Health Center is seeking a compassionate, culturally grounded Mental Health Therapist to join our Health & Wellness Team. The Mental Health Therapist is responsible for administering and delivering mental health services to individuals and families experiencing mental health issues. This may include confidential individual, family or group counseling, support for families dealing with mental health issues or referrals to treatment for individuals.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide mental health counseling and support to individuals, families and groups in the community.
Adhere to the Personnel Policy as set out by Chief and Council.
Maintain strict confidentiality at all times.
Must understand, support and participate in the community enhancement initiatives in working towards the vision of Fishing Lake First Nation which improves the quality of life.
Develop cooperative, professional and productive working relationships with the Health Center, community services providers as well, services outside the community.
Offer crisis intervention, safety planning, and risk assessments.
Maintain accurate, confidential clinical documentation in accordance with privacy legislation and professional standards.
Identify service gaps and recommend culturally appropriate solutions.
Organize and communicate the opportunity for community members to participate in traditional speaking and health circles for men, women, and youth. Facilitate workshops as required.
Participate in staff and program meetings.
Develop and maintain client files.
