Description

The Ministry of Community Safetys Provincial Protective Services Branch is offering an opportunity for an experienced, forwardthinking professional dedicated to public safety to serve as Deputy Director, Witness Protection Program. This role supports the protection of people and the successful prosecution of violent crime by overseeing the Saskatchewan Witness Protection Program and maintaining strong relationships with police agencies, the RCMP Witness Protection Unit, and key stakeholders.

The ministry is seeking a candidate with exceptional leadership, organization, interpersonal strength, and advanced knowledge of policing, including investigative and covert operations, legislation, and officer safety. The successful applicant will be an innovative leader who communicates effectively with diverse individuals and groups, builds productive relationships, identifies and mitigates risk, manages sensitive information with strict confidentiality, and operates calmly under pressure. They will also be comfortable conducting risk assessments and providing immediate protection services when required.

Knowledge and abilities are typically gained through completion of a recognized police college program, supported by specialized training and experience in advanced police operations, covert duties, and management. Candidates must meet enhanced security screening, be eligible for appointment as a Special Constable under The Police Act, 1990 (SK), maintain firearms and useofforce qualifications, and be willing to work flexible hours with extensive travel. Relevant experience must be clearly detailed in application materials.
