The Ministry of Social Services offers dynamic and meaningful work supporting children, families and communities. The North Service Areas are seeking Child Protection Workers in Creighton to deliver protective, preventative and support services under The Child and Family Services Act and The Adoption Act.
They are looking for compassionate, resilient professionals who can apply the Family Centered Case Management Model to support child and family wellbeing. The ideal candidate is dedicated, culturally aware, adaptable, and able to work collaboratively with families, community partners and First Nation Child and Family Services agencies. The role requires sound judgment, strong assessment skills and the ability to navigate complex, emotionally demanding situations while keeping childrens safety at the forefront.
Key qualifications include a Bachelor of Social Work or Bachelor of Indigenous Social Work from an accredited university recognized by SASW/CASW or CASWE. Candidates must be able to work flexible hours, travel, and transport children and parents. Essential knowledge and skills include assessing risk, developing intervention plans, preparing court documentation, and supporting children in care through placement, case planning and longterm care coordination.
Responsibilities include investigating allegations of neglect or abuse, evaluating family functioning, implementing intervention strategies, initiating Family Court processes when needed, arranging foster or alternate placements, coordinating assessment and treatment plans, and preparing children for reunification or longterm care as required.
