Key Responsibilities:
Performs all required duties under the direction of management
Performs routine sampling duties such as sampling grain or products onsite following CFIA protocol for sampling, CGC standards for sampling, Cotecna WIs, and any other client-specific specifications
Log-in, organizing, storing, distribution, and disposing of incoming samples after final inspections
Sample preparation (e.g., cleaning samples, preparing samples for lab testing, grinding, and glassware cleaning)
Operating laboratory equipment such as moisture meters, protein and dockage testers, scales, mycotoxin readers, and falling number equipment; monitor and maintain equipment according to desired standards before performing analysis
Picking up and delivering samples from various locations to the office or vice versa
Maintaining and monitoring basic laboratory supplies (gloves, analysis kits, dust masks, sample bags, filter papers, etc.)
Work closely with in-house Inspectors, Graders, and administrators
Cleaning of work areas (dusting, sweeping, etc.)
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent in years of experience
Strong written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Ability to perform the above duties while maintaining confidentiality
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Willingness to work flexible hours (including weekends) within the banked time system
Competent in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Ability to promote a compassionate, caring, customer serviceoriented culture by operating in a professional and collaborative fashion
Strong organizational and time management skills with a high tolerance for job pressures and an ability to work with individuals of diverse personalities and backgrounds
Must have a valid Canadian driver's license and regular access to a vehicle
