Description

The Ministry of Highways is offering an opportunity for a motivated professional to join its Project Management Support unit as a Senior Project Support Manager. The ministry seeks someone who can contribute to provincial project management standards, support consistent delivery of highway infrastructure projects, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. They are looking for a candidate with strong project management, communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities who can work across branches, guide staff, and support key project management tools and processes.

The ideal candidate holds an engineering degree or equivalent experience and is eligible for registration with APEGS. They should bring knowledge of project management standards, contract administration, software tools used in project delivery, and the ability to analyze project performance, risks, and procurement options. Skills in mentoring, committee participation, and developing policies, procedures, and metrics are also important.

Responsibilities include developing and maintaining project management standards, supporting eBuilder software, managing contract administration staff, coordinating document distribution, assessing procurement options, delivering training, identifying process gaps, and overseeing consulting firms engaged in project management improvements.
