Description

The Ministry of Highways is offering an opportunity for a motivated Equipment Operator to join the Green Lake Section within the Operation and Maintenance Division. The ministry supports a safe, integrated transportation system that contributes to economic growth, and provides stable hours, employerpaid health and dental benefits, training opportunities, leadership development, and the chance to work with advanced equipment while being home most nights.

They are seeking a safetyfocused, adaptable, and teamoriented individual who can work well in an inclusive environment and handle physically and mentally demanding conditions. The ideal candidate is selfmotivated, flexible, and able to make sound decisions in all weather conditions while maintaining strong situational awareness. A valid Class 3A license is required, and a current driver abstract must be provided if interviewed.

Key knowledge and skills include the ability to operate, service, and maintain heavy equipment such as tandem trucks, graders, and loaders; perform summer maintenance; complete daily records; manage basic computer tasks; and work flexible hours. Candidates must be able to contribute positively to the team, work safely under extreme weather, and support the travelling public through surveillance and general maintenance activities.

Responsibilities include creating a safe work environment, performing road and highway maintenance, conducting inspections, and adapting to changing work situations while supporting ministry operations.
