Description

The City of Moose Jaw is seeking to fill a Parks Person III  Forestry position which will generally run from April to October.

Some of the duties include:
-    Ability and knowledge to perform tree maintenance and tree removal
-    Ability to Supervise
-    Assist in the implementation of maintenance programs
-    Assist in maintaining systematic, complete, and accurate records and supporting documents
-    Completing work orders and requests for service
-    Ensure quality customer service
-    Drive/operate/inspect and ensure proper maintenance of various vehicles and equipment,
-    Actively participate in a safety-focused culture by ensuring a positive attitude towards health and safety in themselves and those they work with
-    Attend employer mandated training
-    Perform other Parks related duties as assigned or required

Qualified applicants will possess:
-       Grade 12 education or equivalent
-    6 months experience related to Forestry including tree pruning, tree removals, basic knowledge of tree identification, tree support systems like cabling, bracing etc.
-    Ability to learn new procedures related to tree pruning and maintenance
-    Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
-    Familiarity with Microsoft-based computer systems
-    Knowledge and understanding of the OH&S Act and Regulations
-    Ability to physically and mentally complete duties while exposed to environmental factors and working with PPE
-    Ability to physically perform unassisted heavy lifting up to 50 lbs
-    Ability to operate equipment and vehicles associated with forestry
-    Valid Class 3A Saskatchewan Driver's License and Driver's Abstract
