Description

Regular inspection and monitoring of Pump Houses
Regular Water Sampling including Chlorine Testing as required by Ministry of Environment
General Repair and Maintenance of water meter assemblies
Water Meter Installations
Periodical reading of meters
Organize and assist with water line breaks and/or water line freeze-ups and/or periodic flushing or swabbing of the distribution system
Track inventories and order supplies as required.
Maintain the serviceability and appearance of buildings and grounds using a zero turn lawn mower, and gas powered weed trimmers.
Exercise water valves throughout the Utility
Carry out all operational tasks of the water utility in accordance with safety standards, codes and procedures
    On-call (work irregular hours)

Maintain effective communication with staff and Management
Reports to DRWU Maintenance Technician and Administrator
Any other duties as specified by Administrator or Maintenance Technician

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

1.    Ability to meet and deal tactfully and courteously with subscribers, fellow employees, board members and vendors/contractors
2.    Ability to understand and follow verbal or simple written instructions
3.    Ability to keep routine records and make reports
4.    Ability to make minor repairs to buildings and equipment
5.    Ability to maintain inventory control

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

1.    Must have high school diploma or GED
2.    Must possess a valid Saskatchewan driverss licence and own vehicle.
3.    Must have ability to perform physical labor and be outdoors for long periods of time.
4. Must be able to work with minimal supervision
