Description

The Grant Hall Hotel, a designated National Historic Site and a landmark in downtown Moose Jaw, is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join our administrative team. If you are proficient in maintaining financial records with accuracy and take pride in supporting the financial health of a historic establishment, we invite you to apply.

About the Role:

As a key member of our administrative team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and organization of our financial records. Your work will directly contribute to the smooth operation and long-term sustainability of this iconic hotel.

Key Responsibilities:

- Maintain complete and accurate financial records by establishing, managing, and balancing various accounts using both manual and computerized bookkeeping systems.

Post journal entries, perform account reconciliations, and maintain the general ledger.

- Calculate, prepare, and process cheques for payroll, utilities, taxes, and other accounts payable.

- Complete and submit statutory remittances, including tax forms, workers' compensation, pension contributions, and other government documentation.

- Prepare periodic tax returns and provide other bookkeeping services as required.

- Assist in the preparation of routine financial reports to support managerial review and decision-making.

Qualifications:

- A minimum of two years of professional bookkeeping or accounting experience.

- A Bachelor's degree from a university, preferably in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

- Strong proficiency with computerized bookkeeping systems and software, as well as Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

- Meticulous attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in all tasks.

- Solid understanding of accounting principles and compliance requirements for statutory remittances.

- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion
