Description

Reporting to the Public Works Foreman, the Seasonal Mower Operator is responsible for operating municipal mowing equipment to maintain road allowances, ditches, and other municipal properties. The successful candidate will also assist with general public works duties as required.

Key Responsibilities
    Operate tractor and mower to maintain road allowances, ditches, and municipal properties
    Conduct daily equipment inspections and basic equipment maintenance
    Maintain accurate timesheets and work records
    Maintain a safe and respectful work environment while interacting with coworkers and the public
    Follow municipal safety policies and Occupational Health and Safety regulations

Qualifications
    Valid Class 5 Drivers Licence (drivers abstract may be required)
    Experience operating tractors, mowers, or similar equipment is an asset
    Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform routine equipment checks
    Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
    Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team
    Basic computer or mobile device skills for recording work activities and communication

Position Details
This is a seasonal position, typically running from May to October, depending on weather conditions and operational requirements.

Typical working hours are 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. hours may vary based on operational needs.

This position is considered safety-sensitive, as the employee will be responsible for operating equipment and working along public roadways. The successful candidate may be required to comply with municipal safety policies, including drug and alcohol policies applicable to safety-sensitive positions.
