Description

The Regina Community Clinic is hiring a phlebotomist in a term position from May 1, 2026 - May 1, 2027.
Prepares patient for specimen procurement (e.g., identification, consent, medical condition, instruction of procedure).
Enters requisition data and prints bar code labels.
Collects, labels, and prepares samples according to priority.
Completes requisitions for testing, enters patient data and tests requests for daily routine specimen collections.
Transports samples within facility or packaging for external transport.
Assesses specimen integrity and or adequacy.
Performs various protocols and procedures for research.
Ensure a safe physical environment for patients and staff while performing lab duties
Process stat procedures as requested by physician and report results
Participate in Quality Assurance/Quality Control programs are required by Saskatchewan Health Authority
Ensures proper disposal of specimens, reagents, and biohazardous waste, as per department policies and procedures.
Ensures all work complies with CSA Infection Control (e.g., disinfects benches, countertops, sinks, cupboards, and equipment).
Clean, maintain, troubleshoot, and calibrate equipment according to established standards, Perform routine checks
Follow Saskatchewan guidelines for disposal of biomedical wastes
Maintain Lab area including Phlebotomy site at acceptable standards (universal precautions) and optimal efficiency
