The Ministry of Highways is offering an opportunity for a motivated leader to manage the Project Management Support unit within the Project Support Office. This role is part of the Design and Construction Divisions management team and supports a broad range of stakeholders across the ministry, contractors, consultants, and executive leadership. The ministry seeks someone who can guide the development and improvement of practices, processes, and standards that support delivery of the capital program, project management policies, KPI reporting, and best value procurement. The position requires ongoing assessment of organizational and people impacts as project management tools and standards evolve.
The ideal candidate brings strong interpersonal and leadership abilities, sound judgment, and the capacity to influence change across diverse teams. They must be able to provide clear direction, support project planning and delivery functions, and foster continuous improvement. Candidates must hold an engineering degree from an accredited university and be eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer with APEGS. Experience supervising professional engineers and working with project management methodologies, procurement practices, and construction or infrastructure project delivery is important. Knowledge of project management software, data reporting, contract administration, and records management is also valuable.
Responsibilities include developing project management policies and tools, improving procurement practices, overseeing communication and reporting, supporting lessons learned, managing project records, analyzing delivery options, and administering construction and professional services agreements.
