Description

Meeting Lake Regional Park is seeking a Summer Rec Program Leader to join our team. This position is responsible for planning and coordinating all summer adult and youth programs put on by Meeting Lake Regional Park throughout the summer months. Over the months of July and August, they will lead the Youth and Adult programming. From May to June they will plan and prepare the summer programs as well as assist with general park duties in coordination with the Park Manager.

Qualifications/Duties and Responsibilities:
    An asset but not necessary: a minimum of one year post-secondary in one of the following: Recreation, Education, Kinesiology, Sport Management, Social Work, or a related field
    Good working knowledge of computers, Google Drive, and Teams
    Be able to create and distribute/advertise program information
    Self-motivated, energetic, and creative
    Ability to work independently and with a team
    Must be physically able to fulfill job duties
    Experience working with children
    Good organizational and customer service skills
    Manage documentation (permission forms, waivers etc.)
    Set up and lead rec activities
    Order supplies and equipment for programs in coordination with the administrators
    Assist wth general park duties during slower periods if necessary
    Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends during peak times or events
    Valid Standard First Aid/CPR C/AED Certification
    Provide a satisfactory criminal record check with vulnerable sector upon hire
    Wage or salary will be determined based on experience
