The Ministry of Social Services seeks a citizenfocused, collaborative, and empathetic individual to join the Income Assistance Programs team. The ideal candidate is comfortable engaging with clients in community and office settings, including individuals facing barriers such as addictions, mental illness, disability, or unemployment. Candidates should demonstrate cultural awareness, particularly regarding First Nations and Mtis communities, and possess strong interpersonal skills to work respectfully with clients displaying a wide range of emotions and behaviors.

Key knowledge and skills include understanding human service programs, social issues such as poverty and systemic barriers, motivational interviewing, basic budgeting concepts, and the ability to interpret and apply policy and legislation. Education or experience in Human Servicessuch as Social Work, Indigenous Social Work, Sociology, Human Justice, or Psychologyis considered an asset. A valid drivers licence and willingness to travel are required.

Responsibilities include assessing client needs, developing and monitoring plans, collaborating with colleagues and community partners, and maintaining positive relationships with service providers.
