The City of Swift Current is inviting applications for a permanent, full-time Streets & Roadways Operator position.

This role requires availability for shift work, on-call duties, overtime, and standby assignments, including nights, weekends, and holidays, with a 20-minute response time. Reporting to the Manager of Streets & Roadways, the Streets & Roadways Operators work as part of a crew that is responsible for maintenance of streets, sidewalks, bridges and guard-rails, signage, storm sewer system/drainage and buildings. They are also responsible for snow removal, sanding, street cleaning, pest control, flood monitoring and control, and assisting with street and roadway functions related to promotional events.

Required Qualifications:

Grade 12 diploma or GED.

Possess and maintain a valid Class 5 Driver's License.

Proven ability to work well within a team.

Physical ability to perform the assigned duties, at all times of the year, in various weather conditions and extreme temperatures.

Completion of Respect Certification and a satisfactory Criminal Record Check will be required upon hire.

Desirable Requirements:

Previous related experience.

Candidates who do not currently hold the required qualifications must obtain them within 12 months of their starting date.

Experience Requirement: one (1) hour of classroom time and a minimum of sixteen
