The Regional Services Branch is seeking a motivated professional to join the Crops Extension Specialist team, contributing technical expertise, leadership in crop extension priorities, and collaboration across ministry programs. They are looking for an experienced agrologist with strong knowledge of crop production, soils, pest management and Saskatchewan agriculture. The ideal candidate is a confident communicator able to interpret and share agronomic information with producers and industry, works independently and within a dynamic team, builds strong professional relationships, and can analyze complex production issues to develop practical solutions. Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines are essential.
Key qualifications include a degree in agriculture with a focus on agronomy, soil or plant science, extensive experience in crop production, and a Professional Agrologist designation or eligibility under The Agrologists Act. A valid Class 5 drivers licence is required.
Responsibilities include delivering technical expertise in crop production, leading crop extension initiatives such as the Crop Report, identifying research and extension priorities, and collaborating with partners to support program awareness, public trust, environmental stewardship, research and technology transfer.
