Description

SaskBuilds and Procurement supports the Government of Saskatchewans Growth Plan by integrating infrastructure, procurement, real property, facility management, logistics and IT services. The Property Management team is offering a dynamic opportunity for a Building Operator in Saskatoon. The ministry provides challenging and meaningful work, competitive salary, comprehensive benefits and pension, vacation and earned days off, inclusive work environments, and stability within a serviceoriented team.

They are seeking a motivated, responsible and adaptable individual who can ensure customer comfort and safety by maintaining facilities and equipment in good operating condition. The ideal candidate can supervise staff, work independently and as part of a team, prioritize tasks, and perform a wide range of building and grounds maintenance. This includes minor repairs, preventative maintenance, equipment operation, lawn care, snow removal, lifting and carrying heavy objects, and performing security procedures. The role also requires ensuring compliance with ministry safety standards, Occupational Health and Safety Regulations and Employment Standards.

The preferred candidate brings strong problemsolving abilities, leadership skills, and knowledge of building repair methods, materials, tools and maintenance practices. They should be comfortable working in physically demanding conditions. Key qualifications include a Firemans Boiler Operator Certificate and a Refrigeration Engineer Certificate, or a 5th Class Power Engineer Certificate, along with at least two years of experience in building maintenance, heating, cooling and ventilation systems. Experience with DDC controls is an asset, and a valid drivers licence is required.
