Description

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Payroll & Benefits Coordinator is responsible for maintaining daily, monthly, & annual payroll & benefits services in accordance with departmental, regional, & legislative requirements.

Responsibilities:
Ensure accurate bi-weekly payroll processing including deductions, taxable benefits, pension contributions, & legislative compliance for approximately 400 employees (salaried & hourly).
Perform detailed post-payroll reconciliations, including vacation accruals, benefit deductions, & resolution of employee payroll queries.
Maintain & manage rate changes, benefits, ROE submissions, special payments, WCB & other payroll tax accounts.
Lead year-end payroll activities, including reconciliations & issuance of T4s & ROEs
Support offboarding processes ensuring benefit transitions are completed effectively
Manage employee data changes & maintain system accuracy across payroll & HRIS platforms.
Guide eligible employees through enrolment in group benefits & pension plans
Respond to inquiries from staff regarding their pay, accessing their online payroll account, password resets, entitlements, government tax forms, etc

Job Requirements:
Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) designation is preferred
Strong knowledge of Saskatchewan payroll laws & Employment Standards
Minimum 5 years previous experience performing payroll & accounting functions.
Advanced experience in automated payroll systems, specifically Payworks software
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite programs; including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, & SharePoint.
