Responsibilities: Work closely with Youth ages 12 to 15 years old in a transitional home providing guidance and support to improve their quality of life. Maintaining a clean and secure program area and assisting the public and clients where necessary.
Qualifications:
Post-secondary education and/or previous experience working with youth;
Early childhood development education or experience;
Knowledge of referral agencies;
Open-minded and willing t learn;
Must pass a vulnerable sector, criminal record check;
Caring and compassionate attitude;
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook);
Knowledge of community resources, supports, and other agencies;
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential;
Duties:
Assistance developing case plans for youth clientele/residents;
Transport youth to and from recreational/cultural activities/appointments;
Assist with job searches and employment for youth;
Provide support, referrals, and advocacy for the clients;
Assistance with program and policy development;
Liaise with the Ministry of Social Services;
Ensure policies are adhered to as per contract with the Ministry of Social Services;
Provide support to the clients of the YWCA Peer Support Programs;
Provide feedback to the Youth Services Manager and Supervisor on major issues and incident rep9orts;
Some administrative duties;
Attend to crises as they arise during non-office hours as part of the on-call rotation;
Contact the Youth Services Manager in the event of a crisis;
Prioritize work, attending to the most urgent needs of the clientele first;
Must be able to work unsupervised;
Statistical tracking and reporting;
Maintain confidentiality in all areas;
Be available for the on-call rotation;
Complete daily logs with activities/appointments completed with the youth;
Liaise with Public & Catholic School system to ensure youth are engaged in their education;
Any other duties as requested.
